Located in the Caribbean, The Dominican Republic is often thought of as a tropical vacation destination. However, a large percentage of its 11 million people live in poverty compared to the US. With its location in the Caribbean, The Dominican Republic is constantly battered with tropical storms that constantly wreak havoc on the country. Disciples’ Village began just across the border in Haiti after the devastating earthquake in 2010. Civil unrest in Haiti has opened new opportunities for Disciples’ Village to continue their mission to “make disciples of Jesus Christ” in The Dominican Republic. Disciples’ Village is building new roots to help meet the physical (adequate food, safe homes, clean drinking water, basic medical attention) and spiritual needs of children in The Dominican Republic.
All of this combines to create needs that you can help meet by going with Crossroads Missions and partnering with Disciples’ Village as we host sports events, ESL trainings, beach evangelism, and other outreach opportunities.
Additional Details
Passport: Your passport needs to have at least one year of validity, starting from the date you return from your trip.
Airport and Transportation: Crossroads Missions will arrange all of your transportation during your trip as it is included in the trip cost starting from your departure city. Transportation to your departure city is NOT included. This will be an additional cost.
Vaccinations: Please consult your family doctor and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention website for the most up to date information on vaccinations needed for travel to your specific destination.
